Care and Protection
Bay Tree House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care at all times. Our robust, responsive and effective safeguarding procedures are delivered from a strong foundation of direct experience of working with vulnerable young people. The effectiveness of our safeguarding mechanisms continue to be systematically tested, verified and validated through external inspection by Ofsted.
We recognise that a fundamental practice to safeguarding young people is ensuring we maintain a strategy which recruits, trains and retains the best people who are motivated to work with young people and who share this commitment to protecting and supporting children and young people.
This comprehensive approach to Safer Recruiting ensures:
- We employ the best staff based on their motivation, abilities and suitability for the position and the nature of the work they will undertake.
- We ensure compliance to the above legislation, recommendations, guidance and the code of practice published by the Disclosure & Barring Service(DBS) / Independent Safeguarding Authority.
- We evidence our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people from the very first contact and throughout an individual’s employment.
- Children and young people are protected by a robust and comprehensive recruitment process.
